Diet pills and Anxiety attack?

googooly asked:

Hi I have a history of panic disorder that was caused by coffee and birth control pills!!! I stopped both over 4 months ago and I was worry free. yesterday I took a diet pill called Green Tea fat burner and I had a nasty panic attack! has anyone experinced this or similiar? do Diet pills actually cause or contribute to a panic attack and if so how long does it take for it to leave my body!
Thank you!

Well, of course they do. They rev up your system. Don’t take diet pills any more. Try exercise. That will help your weight and your anxiety.

They raise your heart rate and tons of other things. So yes, they might have caused it.
I’m unsure about how long they will stay in your system though..

Absolutely. They will increase your heart rate. The only diet pills that don’t do that are the ones that only claim to bind to fat making it indigestible or simply make you feel full.
