<p>So you have decided to get a flat stomach?  No, those late night infomercials about certain gadgets to help you get a flat belly do not work. Even performing a million sit ups and crunches every day will not get you the coveted six pack abs.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
To get a flat belly, you will need to put in some work and know some science. Here some tips to help you achieve your goal and if you stick to it, you will find that not only will your stomach get flatter, you will also lose weight from all parts of your body.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Correct eating habit and nutrition is the most important factor in getting a flat stomach. You will have to control your blood sugar levels to lose body fat to do this, you will need to consume five to six meals small meals per day. Please note, I said small meals. For example, you can divide the portion of your three daily meals into 5-6 smaller meals. Simple as that.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Next step is to reduce your carbohydrate consumption to 50 percent or less from your meals. Most people eat too much carbohydrate and before their body could burn up the carbs for energy, they would have already been converted to glycogen and fat. However, you need not go to the extreme by cutting your carbs too drastically.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Consume your small meals every 2 to 3 hours. This is because when your stomach empties itself, your body will tend to conserve fat and by eating frequently, you will be controlling your blood sugar level to encourage fat loss and you will begin to lose weight gradually. However, if you are still not losing weight, then you are consuming too much calories and so if this happens to you, make your meals even smaller by cutting more carbs.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
By the first week, you will probably lose between 4 to 5 pounds (about 2kg) of water weight. Subsequently, you should about 1 to 2 pounds per week. If you are losing more weight than that, then you are probably losing muscles too. So monitor your weight loss carefully. Now, if you are not losing 1 to 2 pounds per week, then reduce another 100 calories from your meals. Remember to abstain from sugar laden drinks such as soft drinks or coffee with cream and sugar as these drinks are chock full of calories.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
You will need to be on this eating program for six days a week reserving one day as cheat day to reward yourself for keeping up with the regimen successfully. However, I am not in favor the cheat day because people tend to use it as an excuse to and over eat. You need decide for yourself whether you want to include a cheat day or not.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
You may also want to to include a weight training program because for every pound of muscle you gain, you will burn 30-50 extra calories a day naturally. Part of your weight training program should include abdominal exercises to tighten up your abs to give you the flat stomach look. </p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Lastly, set aside four to five days a week to perform cardio exercises for about 30-40 minutes. This is done to help you burn up more calories.</p>
<p>&#13;<br />
Is this flat stomach program easy to follow? I will say it is not and that is why so few people succeed in getting have flat stomachs. However, it is definitely achievable if your motivation to have a flat stomach is compelling enough.</p>

<p>Before we go any further, I should say that I have been happily enjoying green tea for several months now and have yet to experience any negative side effects, but it&#8217;s only fair that I mention there *are* some possibilities.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>In this article we&#8217;re going to take a look at the most common side effects so you know what the risks are before you consider drinking green tea.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>After all, the potential benefits are great &#8211; such as weight loss and disease resistance &#8211; but only you can weigh up the pros and cons by taking a closer look at the points outlined here.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Green tea, like most popular brands of coffee, does contain caffeine and so care must be taken not to overdo the use.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>In this case green tea side effects can be like any other caffeine-induced side-effects including, but not limited to, headaches, shaking, sweating, hyperactivity, irratability and problems sleeping. High levels of caffeine have also been associated with skin rashes from time to time, through these tend to go as quickly as they arrived once the caffeine has left the body.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Because of these caffeine levels, doctors generally recommend against giving green tea to children of any age. The same, of course, goes for those breastfeeding.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>It is important at this point to say that levels of green tea will have to be very high indeed for the caffeine-related effects to be felt. Japanese scientists claim you can safely drink up to 10 cups a day without experiencing any side effects from green tea so this is unlikely to effect most of us.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Some people may also experience an upset stomach after drinking green tea though this is rare. A scientific study in 1984 found that &#8220;tea is a potent stimulant of gastric acid, and this can be reduced by adding milk and sugar&#8221; so drinking it as you would your normal tea should help alleviate such problems. Furthermore, if you are taking green tea as extract (such as for weight loss) the manufacturer has likely already tested this element.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Lastly, tannin-containing drinks like green tea (or your more usual black tea for that matter) can, in some cases, lead to iron deficiency and so those with anemia and similar circulatory problems may be best to opt against consuming green tea.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>As mentioned earlier all of these side effects are highly unlikely and are far more likely when green tea is consumed in high concentrations but if you are in any doubt, consult your doctor before taking any green tea-containing product.</p>

<p>Also known as Hoodia Gardonii, this is an ingredient that is included in several brands of weight loss supplements.  This diet supplement became popular after being features on the popular television show, 60 Minutes.</p>
<p>With anecdotal claims of reducing hunger and thirst consumers bought into the hoodia claims and sales of the diet pills soared.   With multiple manufacturers competing for market share perhaps it is not surprising that tests of revealed the level and purity of hoodia contained in some of the products being sold was not as promised and in some cases did not exist at all.</p>
<p>The truth is that hoodia provided by reputable companies has been recognized as effective for appetite control.  The question is not whether the ingredient works as promised but whether the supplement you buy contains the pure ingredient.</p>
<p>The skyrocketing demand for this succulent plant was more than some supplying the raw material could provide.   Thus, some suppliers mixed roots of the plant which weakened the effectiveness.   Others included plants similar to Hoodia but without the benefits of curbing appetite.  Still other suppliers add filler products such as leaves and even sawdust.   Clearly, there are some deceptive practices and this is further complicated if the manufacturer fails to evaluate the purity of the hoodia they receive.</p>
<p>Hydroxycut</p>
<p>This supplement has the reputation of being one of the top weight loss supplements available but it also can also cause adverse effects in users.   The original formula for Hydroxycut contained ephedra which was an ingredient in many fat burning supplements in the past before being banned by the FDA.</p>
<p>This diet supplement was originally marketed to young males but has now released several different formulations including one marketed only to women.  According to the manufacturer, the product does not depend on any specific ingredient for its effectiveness but on the blend of ingredients.   Reading the list of “blends” I found I have no idea what they are as these are not ingredients I’m familiar with.</p>
<p>The recommended dosage of three pills taken with water twice a day will perhaps increase alertness as caffeine is an ingredient in this supplement.</p>
<p>SlimQuick</p>
<p>Designed specifically for women, SlimQuick markets its product as and advanced fat burner that claims to overcome hormonal and physical barriers specific to women trying to lose weight.</p>
<p>The ingredients are groups into a list of “complexes” with a complex of vitamin/mineral ingredients, another labeled as a hormone balancing complex.  What is clear is the inclusion of 200 mg of caffeine substances in each capsule.  The initial recommend dosage is one capsule before breakfast and one more dose six hours later.   It is recommended that dosage be increased in the second week to two capsules twice a day.   At that level, SlimQuick delivers 800 mg of caffeine which could be a problem for any user not accustomed to such stimulants or to someone who drinks caffeine containing drinks during the day.</p>
<p>SlimQuick is not one diet supplement but offers a variety of formulas from the standard to a night formula and offers another version with SlimQuick Extreme.  Unlike the next top weight product reviewed, every SlimQuick product page has a significant list of personal and medical conditions that could lead to serious side effects when using the product.</p>
<p>Liporidex</p>
<p>This extremely popular weight loss supplement was developed by doctors and medical researchers which I found reassuring.   The ingredients are clearly listed along with explanations of the purpose of each ingredient.   Liporidex is an all-natural diet supplement that contains no caffeine or chemical stimulants.</p>
<p>Perhaps for that reason, there are no warnings listed for this dietary supplement.   There is no long list of consumers who should avoid taking the product.   To the contrary, the safety of Liporidex and purity of ingredients is stressed as much as the benefits and fat burning properties of the diet pill.</p>
<p>Offered by only one manufacturer provides quality control of ingredients missing in hoodia or acai products where fly-by-night companies often do not provide the ingredients listed on the label.</p>
<p>Users of Liporidex have reported excellent weight loss while using the supplement.   The ability of the supplement to target abdominal fat (the hardest fat to lose for many of us) is mentioned by users often as is an increase in metabolism and thus energy levels without the nervous feeling caused by caffeine or chemical stimulants of other diet pills.</p>
<p>Unlike the sales pages for some other top weight loss supplements, Liporidex has an excellent refund policy that offers a personal consultation for customers who have special diet needs.   The manufacturer encourages users to ask questions and provides contact information for that purpose.</p>
<p>Acai Berry</p>
<p>Diet supplements containing Acai often refer to the Acai berry as a “superfood”.   Of course it is – all berries are.   The nutritional value of berries is not in question.   What is questionable is whether there are any fat burning or hunger pang reduction properties in the various forms of Acai marketed.   Capsules, juice, pills, powder – all are promoted as diet aids with no scientific basis for the claims of effectiveness.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the popularity of Acai Berry products is not due to how well the products work but to good marketing that has created sales with unsubstantiated claims.  The products using Acai to promote diet aids have been investigated closely because of shady selling tactics.  Customer who fail to read the privacy policy on the sales site for an Acai product may find themselves added to multiple mailing lists for anything being sold as a diet or health aid.</p>
<p>Requesting a free sample is featured on many websites selling Acai as a top weight loss supplement and this is what has led to scam complaints.   When a customer gives their credit card information on the Acai site, it is only to pay for “shipping and handling” of their free sample of the product.   In truth, many sellers of various Acai Berry diet products then use that credit information to re-charge the account monthly for $80 or more for recurring shipments.  This is an unpleasant surprise for buyers and becomes even more frustrating when they find it almost impossible to contact the seller to cancel the recurring order.</p>
<p>In the end, for some products thought of as the top weight loss supplement, low quality ingredients, substandard manufacturing practices and underhanded marketing lead to consumers disappointed in a high cost product that provides no benefits and may carry health risks of side effects.</p>
